The Stephenville Evening Lions Club (SELC) had another amazing turnout at the 27th Annual Upland Bird Extravaganza Dinner and Auction held last Friday night.  They raised a whopping $235,000, which will be used to help support local youth organizations, charities, and special causes in the community.

“Last year was our biggest year ever, raising $265,000, and we credited that to the fact we had to cancel in 2020 so people were ready to get out and support a great cause.  We hoped to raise at least $200,000 this year and when the final numbers were tallied, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we brought in $235,000,” said Upland Bird Extravaganza Chairman, Kent Howell.

“We want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters.  They are the reason we are able to help support so many youth and other organizations in our community,” said SELC President, Jay R Smith.

“We also want to thank the members of the Stephenville Evening Lions Club,” Howell added, “they work hard to put on this event and it’s definitely a team effort!”

The Stephenville Evening Lions Club makes donations to local organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Backpack Buddies of Erath County, Foster’s Home for Children, Meals on Wheels, Stephenville Soccer Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erath County, and many others.
