FORT COLLINS – Tarleton’s opening round matchup of the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC) vs. North Alabama has been postponed due to snow and rain.

The NISC anticipates releasing an updated tournament schedule with game times and locations on Friday.

The 12-team field will now be split between two sites. Games will take place at TC Colorado Field adjacent to Triple Crown Sports headquarters and on the campus of nearby University of Northern Colorado.

Should the forecast cooperate, games are expected to begin Saturday afternoon.

The 11th-seeded Texans (29-23) and sixth-seeded Lions (38-18) will still square off in the opening round of the double elimination tournament. Tarleton draws No. 3 seed UNLV (38-13) with a victory. A loss to the Lions pits the Texans against the loser of No. 7 Rutgers (25-28) and No. 10 UC San Diego (27-26).
