Peggy June Stroud Morris, 83, of Bluff Dale, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Bluff Dale Baptist Church in Bluff Dale. Burial to follow at Glenn Cemetery in Hood County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Peggy was born June 22, 1933 in Blum, Texas to the late Alvin Harry and Winnie Myrle Briscoe Stroud. She attended grade school in Hillsboro, Texas. Because of her parent’s divorce and her mother being unable to care for her, she and her two siblings, Joann and Wayne, were placed in the Texas State Orphans Home in Corsicana, Texas. She left the home in 1948, met and married the love of her life, Farris Ray Morris, on June 10, 1950 in Hood County, and together they raised three daughters. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2008. She was a member of the Bluff Dale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Diane Morris, Kristina Morris, and Connie Davis, and husband, Dwayne; brother, Wayne Stroud; sister, Joann Stroud; eight grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Farris Ray Morris; infant son, Farris Ray Morris, Jr.; her parents, Alvin Harry Stroud and Winnie Myrle Briscoe; infant brother, Dwayne Stroud; and great-grandson, Adrian Davis.
