George Glover, age 72, passed away on January 12, 2024, in Stephenville, TX.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Stephenville Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at West End Cemetery. The family will host a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17 at the funeral home.
George was born on August 30, 1951, to Olney and Gwen (Allison) Glover, in Hico, TX and resided just outside of Hamilton Texas. George graduated from Pottsville School in 1970. After graduating from high school, George went on to work in construction as a carpenter, and cabinet builder. He loved to work with his hands and build custom pieces for homes. He lived in Arlington as well as Joshua, before coming to Stephenville with his family where he resided for the past 42 years. George married the love of his life, Peggy Lockett, on January 8, 1976, in Odell, Texas. George and his family were faithful members of Graham Street Church of Christ.
After retirement, George enjoyed helping at the Basic Needs Ministry through his church. He enjoyed spending time with Jennifer and her family. He loved to watch and tell stories about his precious grandsons.
George is survived by his wife, Peggy of 48 years, their daughter, Jennifer Dittrich and her husband, Greg, of McKinney, TX, as well as his grandchildren, Ryan Dittrich and Lucas Dittrich.
George is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his sister, Kathy Glover.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Basic Needs Ministry through Graham Street Church of Christ or any organization that helps those in need would be greatly appreciated.
