Darlene was born July 23, 1935, in Big Spring, Texas to parents, Martin and Ruth (Milihollon) Taylor, and was raised in Gail, Texas, Darlene passed away May 24, 2024, in Stephenville, Texas at age 88. She graduated from Snyder High School. She was a cowgirl and loved riding horses. She moved to Hamilton County in 1959 with her first husband Billie Holley who was a horse trainer and farrier. Billie passed away in 1969. Darlene went to work at Cattle Auction Barns to support her three children. That is where she met Dick Keeter and later married him. They were married 50 years. She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Stephenville. She enjoyed old-time country western music, especially if it included a fiddle player. Later in life, her hobbies included researching family history and scrapbooking. Her favorite place to visit with Dick was Branson, Missouri.

Darlene was preceded by first husband Billie Holley, parents Martin and Ruth Taylor and son Loyd Holley, step grandson Clint Gertson and sister Doris Rudd.

Darelene is survived by husband Verner Wayne “Dick” Keeter, daughter, Evlyn Gollehon and spouse Al, son Boyd Holley and spouse Kathleen, stepdaughter, Allison Trujillo and spouse Allen and stepdaughter, Elisa Keeter Adams. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Dena Holley Stormer and spouse Clayton, Dalton Holley, Jessica Holley Coalson and spouse Jason, Jared Holley, step grandchildren, Case Orand, Garrett Orand and spouse Veronica, Cori St. Pierre, and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside services, 2:30pm, Sunday, May26, 2024 at Country Oaks Cemetery with Frank Brisco officiating.
