Katharine Beatrice Howell Fine of Arlington, Texas, passed from this life on July 2, 2025, in Corsicana, Texas. Born on March 16, 1936, in Dublin, Texas, to her parents Tommie Pauline and Walter Lowell Howell, Katharine was known for her love of her church home at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, her involvement in the Church Choir, and her activities with the ladies at church. She was a very talented artist and seamstress, the absolute best mother, a loving Christian wife, and a dedicated mother.
Her career at the United States Corps of Engineers as a Hydrologist was a testament to her dedication, from which she later retired. Katharine married Allen Z Fine on July 2, 1954, and together they shared 69 lovely years and three children.
Katharine is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lowell Howell and Tommie Pauline Howell, her sister, Helen Louise Orr, and her brother, Curtis Mitchell Howell. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Bernice Howell; her daughter, Denise Herring and husband, Jerry; her son, Mark Fine and wife, Debbie; her son, Bruce Fine; her grandchildren, Welsey Thedford and wife, Mary, Michelle Webb and husband, Chris, Corey Fine and wife Mary; and her great-grandchildren, Caroline Webb, Elizabeth Fine, Josiah Fine, Derek Thedford and wife, Madeline, and Michael Thedford.
We thank the Lord for her and will miss her dearly.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Upper Greens Creek Cemetery at 10:00am.
