STEPHENVILLE — Kentucky-based artist Brad Vetter will be featured in “Posters with Purpose” at Tarleton State University’s Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Gallery beginning Aug. 20.
Originally a concert poster designer, Vetter has seen how the art form of graphic design has evolved over the past 20 years and has grown his niche into including ideals he values, including digital overload and community causes.
“I am attempting to slow you down, to shift your focus and look a little deeper at what is right in front of you,” he said. “My work seeks to reclaim the power of physical engagement in an age of digital overload. By blending traditional letterpress techniques with contemporary design, I make work that invites viewers to slow down, focus and discover beauty in the details.”
Vetter now crafts work outside of the poster world and seeks to foster community and celebrate beauty in small, everyday things that are often overlooked. Promoting community, awareness and advocating for causes he believes in, Vetter creates media that’s both accessible and unique.
The show runs through Sept. 18.
