(March 3, 1933 — October 12, 2025)
Myrtle Price Mobley was born March 3, 1933, in Brown County, Texas, to Wallace A. and Elsie Price. She was the youngest of 9 children. She graduated from Early High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation she dated Billy Mobley for the first time. That first date led to marriage on June 21, 1952, a marriage that would last for 73+ years. Her and Billy’s life was a wonderful love story.
Myrtle accompanied Billy to College Station and Texas A & M. For the next 2 years she worked a variety of jobs, including Five and Dime clerk, soda jerk and secretary of the Director of Agriculture Education Department to support Billy while he completed his degree. Shortly after Billy graduated he entered the USAF and she began life as an officer’s wife – a life that would take them all over to the world and lead to experiences that the two kids from rural Texas had never imagined.
After the Air Force life they moved to Stephenville, TX which would be home for the next 44 years. There she became active in the community and enjoyed playing bridge and golf with her many, many friends. Her greatest joy, however, was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant child Lori, her first son, Randy, all of her sisters and brothers.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Billy; daughter, Vickie and Steve Mayes, son, Michael and Tami Mobley; grandchildren, Tara and Wayne Dornich, Braeden and Cindy Mayes, Jarrod Mayes, Stephanie McMinn, Nathan McMinn, Theresa and Jake Hobbs, Zaida Mobley and fiancé Chance Jenigen, Billy-Kaid Mobley; and six great grandchildren, Colson Jenigen, Kyra and Kohen Dornich, Jaxen and Conner Mayes, Odette Mayes, and Spencer Goains.
