Bernadine Marie Hall, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully
on November 10, 2025, at the age of 76.
Bernadine was born on October 7, 1949, to Anthony and Francis Main. She grew up in a large,
loving family as one of nine siblings. Her only surviving brother, Vince Main of Vista,
California, will cherish her memory alongside many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
On October 3, 1971, Bernadine married the love of her life, Henry Merrill Hall, in Vista,
California. They shared 43 wonderful years together until Merrill’s passing in 2014. Together,
they built a beautiful family and a life filled with laughter, love, and devotion.
Bernadine is preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Hall; her daughter, Kimberly Hall
Hutton; her son, Michael Hall; her parents, Anthony and Francis Main; and several of her
siblings, including her brother, Patrick Main of Gordon, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Shyra Hall King, and son-in-law, James King, of Stephenville,
Texas. Bernadine was a proud grandmother to Victoria Macia, Michael Hutton, Christian King,
Dalilah King, Ava King, and Blake King, who were her greatest joy.
Bernadine retired from the Vista Unified School District Transportation Department in 1994,
after many years of dedicated service. Later that same year, she and Merrill moved from Vista,
California, to Mingus, Texas, to be near family. Never one to sit still, Bernadine went on to work
nearly 20 years as a waitress at the Smokestack Restaurant in Thurber, Texas, where she was
loved by coworkers and customers alike.
Known for her kind heart and hardworking spirit, Bernadine loved being outdoors, working in
her yard, and spending time with her family and grandkids. For the last ten years, she made her
home with Shyra and James in Stephenville, where she was surrounded by love every day.
Bernadine left this earth in style — just as she lived her life — with grace, humor, and the deep
love of her family.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Bernadine’s
beautiful life.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
