Willie Dean Hunter, born September 17, 1934, in Iredell, Texas to parents William and Bertha (Adkison) Horton passed away in Glen Rose, Texas at age 91. Willie also known as “Mema” or mom to family and friends. Loved her church, family especially the grandchildren, playing 42, camping, traveling and the Texas Rangers. Willie graduated from Iredell and married the love of her life Robert Hunter on August 10, 1951.
Willie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hunter, siblings, Essie Luckie, Youedell Cody and Robert Horton.
Surviving Willie are children Linda Conner, Sherry Scott and husband Robert, Randy Hunter, Susan Ashmore and husband Ashley, grandchildren Cindy Chase and husband Chad, Janet Blake and husband Steven, Ryan Scott and wife Shelley, Dustin Scott and wife Keesha, Lauren Burtness and husband Alec, John Lane and wife Hannah Guerrero, Randy Hunter Jr., and Robby. Also surviving Willie are great-grandchildren Conner, Dylan, Cooper, Morgan Karli and Sage, Colby McDonald, Janae Weldon, Tanner and Sierra McDonald who are expecting babies who are great great-grandchildren due in January 2026, Miles Tan McDonald and Avery Grace McDonald.
Visitation from 1pm to 2pm, Friday November 28, 2025, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home followed by Graveside Services at 2pm at Hico Cemetery.
