Katherine Sue McMurray, born May 20, 1938, in Wink, Texas to parents Charles and Katherine (Randals) Shelton, passed away December 28, 2025, in Ft Worth, Texas. Katherine graduated Angelina College with and associate’s in accounting and retired from the Texas Comptroller’s Office as a Senior Enforcement Officer.
Preceding Katherine in death were her parents, husband, MSG (ret) James A. McMurray, brothers Charles Randals Shelton and Roger Lane Shelton.
Survived by son, James A. McMurray, Jr. grandchildren, Christopher Charles, Travis Austin, Katherine Elizabeth McMurray, sister Margaret Carol Shuping, cousin Barbara Gregg, Katherine is also survived by much loved nephews and nieces and much-loved caregiver Betty Pena and family.
Visitation 12-2pm, Saturday Jan10, 2026 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home, followed by a service at two pm with Pastor James Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Hico Cemetery.
