In Loving Memory of Janet Albertson
(December 10, 1956 – January 9, 2025)

Janet Albertson, a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on January 9, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy defined by strength, discipline, and a deep-rooted commitment to her family.

Her journey
Born on December 10, 1956, to Rex and Ruth Green, Janet grew up in California, where she developed the resilient spirit that defined her character. Throughout her life, Janet’s North Star was always her family. In 2001, she moved to Michigan to be closer to her brother, Rex, and sister-in-law, Ruby.

Later, as the family continued to grow and change, Janet moved to Texas in 2014. Though her brother and his wife eventually moved to Missouri, the bonds of family remained at the center of her heart, no matter the distance.

Family Legacy
Janet was reunited in peace with those who preceded her in death: her parents, Rex and Ruth Green; her sisters, Karen and Ellie; and her brother, David.

Her strength and love carry on through her surviving children and their families:
Anthony Thorp and wife Robin Stephens, Liberty Goodson, Valerie Goodson
Victor Goodson.

Janet’s spirit also lives on through her beloved grandchildren:
Adrian Scott, Alissa Thorp, Apollo Goodson, Bycen Goodson, Caydence Scott, Chase Goodson, Eternity Goodson, Jarod Goodson, Leala Thorp, and McKenzie Thorp.

She is also survived by her brother, Rex Green, and his wife Ruby Green.

Her memory is cherished by her nieces and nephews: Brandon, Bryan, Casey, Karen, Krystal, Leanne, Lindsey, Nycole, and Timothy.

She additionally lives on through the love of our Aunt Lisa Albertson and Danielle Watson. And many more that was in mom life and heart.

A Life of Character
As a mother, Janet was known for her “tough but fair” approach—raising her children with a clear sense of right and wrong, while always ensuring they knew they had her unwavering support. She was a woman who didn’t just offer advice, but offered a helping hand whenever it was needed. She taught her family the value of showing up for one another, a lesson they will carry forward in her honor.

Janet will live on in the hearts, memories, and souls of her family and friends forever.
