Lana Bea Barker, 82, of Stephenville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Lana was born on January 17, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Herbert Pierre and Mildred Edna Williams Langley. She attended public schools in Lake Charles, and graduated from LaGrange High School. On October 26, 1963, Lana married the love of her life, Thomas Clifford Barker, in Lake Charles. After several years of Thomas’ career moves, they made their home in Lewisville, Texas, where they resided for over 40 years. Lana retired after several years with the Lewisville ISD, where she was a secretary, and with the IT department. She and Thomas were members of the Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville, where Lana taught Sunday School and Bible Study, and served many years as a summer camp sponsor. Lana had many passions in her life. She loved to bowl, taking art painting classes, and going to garage sales. She and Thomas loved to travel, going to Germany and Austria. Most of all she loved being with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved attending athletic events, watching her grandchildren compete. During baseball games, whenever you heard “GO BALL” everyone knew that Nana was there. She also loved to cook, especially, making a good gumbo meal. After 40 years in Lewisville, Lana and Thomas moved to Stephenville, four years ago, to be close to other family members.

Lana is survived by her husband, Thomas; sister, Ida Holland; daughters, Rhonda Howie and husband Paul, and Pam Lynn and husband Kendall; grandchildren, Lesslie Bull and husband Wesley, Corey Howie and wife Taylor, Cheryl Fields and husband Chase, Bryan Lynn and wife Alex , and Brandon Lynn; great grandchildren, Elijah Bull, Brooklyn Bull, Wyatt Bull and Ellington Bull, Cap Howie, Murphy Howie, Leslie “Dub” Howie, Kennedy Hamilton, and Tessa Lynn, and numerous other family and friends.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Pierre and Mildred Edna Williams Langley.

Graveside services for Lana will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6325 Common Street, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, 70607. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.
