Ann was a serial entrepreneur, owning a few restaurants and nightclubs, most notably the Watering Trough, Long Branch, Cowtown, and Oasis in the Fort Worth Stockyards. It might be red beans and corn bread for the cattle buyers, calf fries for contestants on “Slack Monday” during the Stock Show, or just entry fee or gas money for the next rodeo.
