LAS VEGAS – Tarleton State Women’s Basketball senior guard Jakoriah Long and freshman center Elodie Lutbert have been named to All-Western Athletic Conference teams that were revealed on Tuesday night.
Long was named to the All-WAC Second Team while Lutbert earned spots on the All-WAC Defensive Team and All-WAC Freshman Team. The Texans have representation on three different All-Conference teams for the first time in the Division I era.
Leading the Texans in scoring once again, Long picked up her second consecutive All-WAC Second Team honor. She is the first Texan in the Division I era to receive back-to-back All-Conference honors and the first since Mackenzie Hailey (2018-19, 2019-20) to be named to an All-Conference team in two consecutive seasons.
Scoring her 1,000th career point against Utah Valley (2/26), Long became the 23rd 1,000-point scorer in program history. The Waco, Texas, native knocked down her 100th career 3-pointer on Jan. 3, 2026 and is currently fifth on the program’s all-time career 3-pointers list. Being the leading scorer for the Texans in their last five games, Long has registered four 20-point games in 2025-26.
Starting 2025-26 with her first Division I double-double in the Texans’ third game of the season, Long holds multiple Division I era single game program records. She currently has the most points (34), made field goals (11) and made 3-pointers (7) in a single game in the Division I era.
Lutbert is having one of the best seasons by a first-year college player since the Texans moved to Division I. She is the first freshman since 2012-13 to be named to the All-WAC Defensive Team (Riana Byrd, San Jose State). The 6-foot-6-inch center also owns the Division I era single season program record for rebounds with 214.
Lutbert currently leads the Texans in rebounds and blocked shots, averaging 10.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in her debut season of college basketball. She also leads Tarleton State with eight double-doubles, with her latest one coming against the WAC regular season champions, California Baptist. Lutbert is the first freshman in the Division I era and the first since 1985-86 to have eight double-doubles in a single season (Kelly Hubbard, 13).
In addition to being the first freshman since 1985-86 to have three straight games with a double-double, Lutbert matched the Division I era program record for most rebounds in a game with 16 against UTA (1/21). Lutbert has also blocked five shots multiple times this season, being the first Tarleton State freshman since 2005 to have five blocks in a game (TaNesiah Leak). The Sainte-Luce, Martinique, native is currently second all-time on the program’s single season blocks list and needs just six more blocks to break the program record.
Tarleton State’s first game in the 2026 Air Force Reserve WAC Women’s Basketball Tournament takes place on Thursday at 2 p.m. CT. The No. 5 seed Texans will face the No. 4 seed Utah Valley in the WAC Quarterfinals.
