(January 5, 1961 – March 30, 2026)
It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teri Denease Dawkins-McAdams, who left this world on March 30, 2026, at the age of 65, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Teri was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and creativity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a true gift for making things beautiful—both in the spaces she designed and in the lives she nurtured. As a talented interior decorator and the heart behind her business, Boujee Bows and Wreaths, she brought joy to others through her custom creations and artistic spirit.
Above all, Teri loved her family deeply. She is survived by her children: Stephanie Burns and husband Jacob, Jessica McAdams, and Andrew Dawkins and wife Daria. Her grandchildren: David, Ireland, and Sutton, who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life. Her brother, Donny Spurlock and wife Tracy, and sisters Phyllis Stewart and husband Dee, and Debbie Lee. Her Aunts, Mary Wade and Martha Stringer. She also leaves behind her long-time life companion, Kevin Davis. Many nieces and nephews, Barbara and Rachel Spurlock, Kristy and Jessie Ainsworth, Phillicia and Harve Stewart, and Kim and Shaun Shuff. Along with many other friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Michael Allen Dawkins; her parents, Crawford “Butch” Spurlock and Bobbie Spurlock Allen; and her brother, Crawford Dwayne Spurlock.
Teri will be remembered for her kind heart, her creative soul, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence brought comfort, beauty, and light to those around her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains in every life she touched and every beautiful thing she created. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
No, shed no tears, for I need them not, all I need is your smile. If you feel sad, do think of me, for that’s what I’ll like. When you live in the hearts of those you love, remember then: you never die.
Memorial services for Teri will be held at Lacy Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
