The Stephenville High School Honeybees (25-10, 5-0) scored quick and repeatedly on Tuesday against the Brownwood Lady Lions (18-9, 2-3), defeating them in 3 sets (25-14, 25-12, 25-21). Brownwood, who is fourth in District 6, 4A, moves on to face the Gatesville Lady Hornets (21-7, 3-2), who are second in district play. While the Bees sit comfortably at first.
Stephenville will face the third place Glen Rose Lady Tigers (20-12, 2-2) in district play at home on Tuesday, October 19, at 6 p.m. The last time the Bees played the Lady Tigers (on Friday, October 1), Stephenville came away with the narrow victory, 3-2, so it’s sure to be a great game.
A few facts: Tuesday was Jaylee Matthews’ 150th career start. Kennedy Coffee entered Tuesday night’s competition with 1,485 career assists. And, finally, Landri Withers entered Tuesday’s competition with 935 career kills.
