While we aren’t facing the same kind of threat as our neighbors to the south, the NWS in Fort Worth has issued a Flood Threat for Erath County and surrounding counties, while Central Texas counties are currently under a Flood Warning.

According to the NWS, “A new Flood Watch has been issued for Central Texas through 7 p.m. Monday, July 7. The additional storms today with locally heavy rain will result in a continued flood threat, mainly in areas that have received the heaviest rain so far. Areas S of I-20 & W of I-35 received 2-5” over the last 3 days, with isolated amounts exceeding 6”. Never drive into water of unknown depth. Remember, Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Use extra caution at low water crossings & poor drainage areas and NEVER drive through barricades.”
