(December 17, 1956 – June 23, 2025)
A beautiful soul left this world to be with the Lord. Charlsie Sterry unexpectedly passed from this life on Monday, June 23rd peacefully at home. Charlsie lived a life of generosity and servitude. She loved the Lord, being with her family, looking out for others and going on outdoor adventures. Charlsie was a beautiful combination of her parents. She received a spark and zest for life from her mother and was as steady as a rock like her father. She always went out of her way to help or look out for others. She was a member of the Cedar Hill Church of Christ and a devout servant of the Lord.
Charlsie was born on December 17, 1956, to parents Charles and Hazel Allen. She graduated from Stephenville High School in 1975 where she had been an active member of the high school band. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree at Abilene Christian University, where she met her husband, Clint Sterry. Then she continued her education at Baylor University in Dallas where she received her doctor of dentistry. After graduation from Baylor, she worked with her beloved uncle, Dr. Charles Crabtree, at his dental clinic in Dublin, Texas, as well as volunteered countless hours in mission work for Wycliffe Bible Translators and medical mission trips to Nicaragua. Charlsie retired in 2022.
Charlsie and Clint were blessed with two beautiful children, Stephanie Bean and Brandon Sterry, as well as, three grandchildren, Grace, Branson, and Sammy. Charlsie loved her family with her whole heart and was an amazing and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved going on trips with her family to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, picnics with her little red picnic ball filled with all the necessities for a fun time with family and friends, summer evenings at the pool, spending time with family, exploring the family farm that held a very special place in her heart, hotdog cookouts, family reunions and holidays traditions, including all the decorations that came with them. A very proud moment in her life was being able to present her son, Brandon, his robes when he graduated from medical school.
Charlsie loved her grandchildren with her whole heart. She loved to chase them around the house with a wrapping paper tube and she adopted animals for them. She showed them how to love the Lord, as well as how to love others. Charlsie loved mother/daughter time with Stephanie, adventures with Brandon, cooking for others, baking bread, power naps and sewing. She was always proud of her garden which produced vegetables, as well as her beautiful flower garden.
She also had quite the mischievous side. She would often play small jokes on others like painting her brothers’ nails when she caught them napping or placing toilet paper between her daughters’ toes in neighboring bathroom stalls.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Charlsie knew she would always have a smile on her face and a giggle to be given. Charlsie had a very positive outlook on life and could often be heard saying, “It will all work out.”. She always made everyone feel welcome, safe and taken care of even if she had just met you.
Charlsie is survived by her mother Hazel Allen, husband Clint Sterry, daughter Stephanie Bean and husband David, son Brandon Sterry and wife Gigi, brother David Allen and wife Amy, and sister-in-law Amy Allen. She was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Grace and Branson Bean, and Sammy Charles Sterry. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Allen and beloved brother John Allen.
The loss of a kind and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother will truly leave a hole in the lives of those left here but the family rejoices in her love for the Lord and the promise and hope we have through Him. We look forward to being together again one day in Heaven!
