STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton State Football showcased its talents in front of a national audience on Saturday and the national recognition keeps coming, with Tre Page III and Ty Rawls sweeping FCS Nation Radio’s National Player of the Week Awards.

Page was named National Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 170 rushing yards to go with two touchdowns on 15 carries (11.3 yards per rush) in Saturday’s win against Portland State. Rawls was named Defensive Player of the Week following two interceptions in the ESPN2 contest.

The redshirt freshman running back rushed for a 28-yard touchdown in the first quarter and then an 89-yard score in the second quarter, totaling 160 first half rushing yards. Page had the most rushing yards in a season opener in Tarleton State Football’s Division I Era, and the most since Daniel McCants had 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2019.

Page played in two games in 2024, recording a reception for 16 yards in his collegiate debut at West Georgia and seeing action in the regular season finale against Central Arkansas. He totaled 1,290 yards on 144 carries (9.0 YPC) and 16 touchdowns in 20 games over the last two seasons at Langston Hughes High School.

Rawls matched his 2024 season total for interceptions in Saturday’s win at Portland State. He now has seven career takeaways as a Texan.

The UAC Second Team All-Conference selection started all 14 games last season for Tarleton State. Conference-wise, he was one of four players with three or more forced fumbles, and was tied-ninth in interceptions last season. Rawls has had at least one takeaway in each season representing Tarleton State since 2023.

Tarleton State will once again be in the national spotlight, taking on Army on CBS Sports Network on Friday at 5 p.m. at West Point.
