STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton State Football will host North Dakota in the second round of the FCS Playoffs at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 12 p.m.
North Dakota defeated the 13-seed Tennessee Tech 31-6 on the road in the first round of the FCS Playoffs on Saturday. The 4-seed Tarleton State and North Dakota will be among the final 16 teams playing in the FCS Playoffs, with a chance to advance to the quarterfinals.
Tickets are available for the game, priced at $25 for reserved seating and $12 for north side general admission. Season ticket holders can claim their seats, simply needing to log into their accounts online or call 254-968-1832 to purchase. As for Tarleton State students, staff and faculty, tickets are free. Staff and faculty receive two free tickets, which they can claim online now, or call the Tarleton State Ticket Office at 254-968-1832. Students will get in free through the Corq app, like they have most of this season.

North Dakota is now 8-5 overall on the season out of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. During the regular season, the Fighting Hawks defeated the likes of No. 12 Southern Illinois (38-19) and No. 20 Youngstown State (35-17), with narrow losses against Kansas State (38-35), No. 1 North Dakota State (15-10), No. 5 Montana (24-23) and No. 22 South Dakota State (34-31 in overtime). North Dakota is 4-3 on the road this year.
The winner of the matchup between Tarleton State and North Dakota will play on either Dec. 12 or Dec. 13 against the winner of the 5-seed Lehigh and the 12-seed Villanova.
The second round between 16 teams is on Dec. 6, the quarterfinals on Dec. 12-13, the semifinals on Dec. 20, and the national championship game in Nashville on Jan. 5.
The Texans finished the regular season 11-1 overall, 7-1 in United Athletic Conference play to win a share of the UAC championship, alongside Abilene Christian. The Texans set a new record for wins in a season in their D1 era, surpassing the 10 last season. The Texans’ 7-1 conference mark is also a new program D1 best.
