Graveside Services for Linda Stahnke will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2025, at Lacy Funeral Home.

Linda Singleton Stahnke, 86, was born in Gorman, Texas, on February 15, 1939, and died at her residence in Hico, Texas, on December 26, 2025. She was the daughter of Hugh and Lounette Singleton and grew up on a sandy land farm in Comanche County.

Linda married Clyde Stahnke of Priddy, Texas, on January 1, 1960, and was married to him for 59 years.

She was a member of the Stephenville Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker. Her interests included jewelry making, reading, sewing, the Dallas Mavericks, Gospel music (especially shape note singing), and traveling. Many people from the Stephenville area remember her for her years of working at Walmart as a cashier. She considered her Walmart job her ministry and was a source of advice and comfort to numerous people that she worked with.

In addition to caring for her sons, Linda fed and sheltered many young people from the Stephenville area and never hesitated to meet the needs of anyone who came to her home tired, hungry, or in need of love.

Linda is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Curtis Stahnke (Bunny) of Comanche, Alan Stahnke (Mary) of Salado, and Kevin Stahnke (Holly) of Hico; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Stahnke, Matthew Stahnke, Rainey Hummel (Stephen), Nathaniel Stahnke, Phillip Stahnke (Emily), Shade Stahnke, and Magnolia Stahnke; and many nieces and nephews.
