
October 4, 1932 ~ December 25, 2025 (age 93)
Raymond and his identical twin brother, Robert, were born in San Angelo, Texas, on October 4, 1932, children of Jack and Ava Kenny. A graduate of Tarleton State College and Texas A & M University, his career highlights included being a pilot in the United States Air Force, Instructor in TCU’s Ranch Management Program, in which he helped develop the curriculum, Water District Manager for Maverick County Water District, and Farm Manager at Alta Verde Farms in Eagle Pass, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cadenhead Kenny; his elder sister, Mary Jo Kenny of Carrollton, younger sister, Sue Kenny Weathers and brother-in-law, Dale Weathers, of Dallas, and sister-in-law Shirley Kenny of Mclean, Virginia; son, Mark Kenny of Stephenville, daughter, Sara Kenny Willis and son-in-law, Bill Willis, of Stephenville, daughter, Martha Kenny of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren Jordan Willis, Leigh Herod, James Curry Marks, and Hannah Kenny; and several nieces and nephews. His twin, Robert, preceded him in death in April, 2025.
Raymond was a tireless volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and countless community and church projects. With a giving heart and capable skills, he was always ready to commit his time and energy.
He retired to the land he loved, his childhood home where he and Peggy built their home overlooking the hills of Erath County. His retirement years were never idle. He and his son continued raising cattle on the family ranch for the rest of his years. In his workshop, he made turned-wood bowls and vases, he mastered a crossword puzzle every morning, and spent a quiet time daily enjoying his home, his family, his cattle, his coffee and his dog Chula.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 27.
