Danny “Doc” Ray Allen, 76, passed away on March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 5, 1949, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Boyd Allen and Jewel (Tuggle) Allen, Danny lived a life that was as rugged and multifaceted as the land he loved.

A man of immense skill and work ethic, Danny retired after many years as a conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad. Beyond the tracks, he was a true “jack of all trades” whose hands were never idle. He was a farmer and a rancher at heart, but his talents extended far beyond the field. Whether he was playing the guitar, hunting, or meticulously whittling wood, Danny found beauty in the “hands-on” details of life. An avid collector and outdoorsman, he spent countless hours hunting for arrowheads and admiring the craftsmanship of antique cars.

To those who knew him best, “Doc” was a man of steady character and quiet wisdom. He is survived by his two daughters, Misty Hinson and her husband Aaron, and Angela Cornett and her son, Preston Russell. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Lippie, and her husband David, as well as his dearest friends, Dana Miller and Cody Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his stories and his steady presence.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Jewel Allen.

He leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, a love for the Texas soil, and the memory of a man who could fix just about anything—except, perhaps, the hole left in the hearts of those who loved him.
