(Jan 28, 1939 — Aug 21, 2026)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zelda Rhea Mulloy, 87, on August 21, 2026. She passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Zelda was born on January 28, 1939, in Comyn, Texas, to John Dennis and Lola Belle (Benton) Mills. She attended Dublin High School. On September 16, 1955, she married the love of her life, Eddie Eugene Mulloy, at Edna Hill. The two of them built a beautiful life together and enjoyed each other’s company for 60 years until Eddie’s passing on January 5, 2016.
Zelda’s heart was her family. She followed her husband through the West Texas and Libyan oilfields and spent her days managing her household and instilling wonderful values in her children. The family settled in Levelland, where she owned a dirt contracting business with her husband and managed daily operations. She and Eddie returned “home” to the Stephenville area in 1994.
Zelda will be deeply missed by her son, Jackie Mulloy and his wife, Belynda; her daughter Melony Wise and her husband, Toby; her grandchildren Jace Mulloy, Lance Mulloy, Cole Mulloy, Breana Hicks and their spouses, 8 great grandchildren; and her sister Wanda Lightfoot.
Zelda is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, her son Bobby Mulloy, and a sister Johnnie Belle Thiebaud.
A funeral service will be held in Zelda’s honor on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10 AM at Stephenville Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Upper Green’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Stephenville Funeral Home from 6-7 PM.
