SAN ANTONIO – Tarleton State Soccer picked up its fourth draw of the season, tying its three-match road trip with a 0-0 tie against UIW on Thursday at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.
The Texans led in offensive stats with 10 shots, with five coming on goal. Tarleton State finished the match with seven fouls while UIW had 10.
Zoe Ballard led with a match-high five shots in 90 minutes of action, with one coming on frame. Adelaide Wyrzynski led the team in shots on goal with two. Wyrzynski is now up to 11 shots on target this season.
The tie marks the first draw for the Cardinals in the2026 season. The matchup was the second time the programs met, with the last time being in Stephenville. Tarleton State won the match 4-1 in the 2025 contest.
Goalkeeper Rylie Bloomfield played a full 90 minutes and made two saves en route to earning her first shutout of the season. Alongside Bloomfield, Ballard, Victoria Lucksinger, Peyton Bryant, and Ava D’Costa all played a full 90 minutes.
After going scoreless at halftime, Wyrzynski collected back-to-back shots in the 50th and 5st minute. UIW, however, saved both shot opportunities to prevent the go-ahead goal. The Cardinals looked to take the lead with two shots on goal in the first 12 minutes of the second half, but Bloomfield saved both shots to keep the shutout intact.
Tarleton State did not allow a shot to UIW for the final 32 minutes of play, finishing full time with its first shutout in the Erik Solberg era.
The Texans, now up to four ties, are still seeking their first win of the season as they travel to Houston to face Houston Christian on Sunday at 1 p.m. Tarleton State will return to Stephenville on Sept. 17 to play Texas Southern.
