Raymond Harold Mayfield, born on May 1, 1934, passed away on September 4, 2026, leaving behind a life remembered with love and joy by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara and Truman Mayfield; his brother JW Mayfield; and by his wife, Gladene Mayfield, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage; and by his longtime companion, Frankie Yarbrough.
Raymond’s memory will be cherished by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter Rae Ann Lucash, and her husband Joe, and his son Brad Mayfield. He is also survived by his sister, Jo Vaughn Dunn, and her husband Steve; his brother, Harvey Mayfield, and his wife Judy; and his sister, Stella Proctor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maegan Schoech and her husband Travis, Alyssa Lucash, Joey Lucash, Lacye Nash and her husband Josh, Libbie Mayfield, Lawson Mayfield, and London Rice. He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Emma Schoech, Lainey Schoech, Scarlett Schoech, Natalie Nash, and Anderson Rice.
Raymond will be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. The love and joy that surrounded his life remains his legacy, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at West End Cemetery at 10:00AM.
