Retha Vernice Dueling passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Sulphur Springs, Texas at the age of 70. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Johnsville Cemetery in Threeway.
Retha was born May 4, 1956, in Cleburne, Texas to Delbert Lee Mills and Bernice Bales. Later in life she worked for a state school doing the laundry services. Retha enjoyed listening to music and singing along (Christian songs were her favorite), talking with people, and fellowship. Her favorite color was red. She enjoyed dressing up, putting on makeup, and going to church. She loved her family and spending time with them; she especially loved to aggravate her grandchildren just for fun, family was very important to her. Retha loved Christmas time and decorating for the holiday. She never left an empty spot on the Christmas tree. She married Michael Dueling later in life and they really enjoyed their time together; they had a way of being silly and fussing with one another all at the same time.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Allen Dueling, Sr; her children, Tonya Mills, Retha and husband Richard Rawls, Nichole Morgan and Michael Dueling, Jr., son in law David Behan, Her grandchildren, Angelina, Brian, Megan and husband Jacob, Cheyenne and husband Preston, Jessie and husband C.J., Taylor, Payton and Billy, Savanah and Tristan, Clear and Dillion, and Darius. Her great-grandchildren Winter, Weston, Christina, Koda, Sophia, Rylan, Wrenley, Daisy, Rosie, and Evan, her brother, C. L. Mills.
Retha was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Delbert Mills, and her daughter, Michale Allena Dueling; grandchildren, Kaleb and Aubrey; brother, Virgil Mills; son-in-laws, Larry Resendiz and Andrew Price.
