Texas Master Naturalist Chapter Social and Guest Speaker
The Prairie Oaks Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program invites those with interest in becoming Master Naturalists to a chapter introduction featuring information about scheduled training and service opportunities. The Prairie Oaks Chapter area covers Erath, Comanche, Hamilton and Palo Pinto counties. The event will feature a guest presentation “Riparian Management, Why Creeks Act the Way They Do” by NRCS wildlife biologist Ricky Linex, at 3:00 p.m. at the Agrilife Research & Extension Center, 1229 N US Hwy. 281 (at intersection with E FM 8) in Stephenville. The presentation will cover reasons why creeks become unstable and erode, and what can be done to protect creeks and riparian areas. The event will include refreshments and an opportunity to meet and talk with area Master Naturalists. Attendees who pre-register qualify for a door prize drawing.
