WILLOW PARK (June 23, 2017) – Tarleton’s annual golf tournament to benefit the scholarship foundation continued its successful tradition Friday afternoon as the Tarleton faithful filled the links for the 26th annual Plowboy Shootout presented by First Financial Bank.
“The tournament was a tremendous success,” said Tarleton Athletic Director Lonn Reisman. “We really appreciate everyone that participated – from the players to the corporate and hole sponsors. This tournament is very important to us because it creates scholarships for our student-athletes and the support we’ve gotten over the last 26 years has been incredible. Again, we would like to say ‘thank you’ to First Financial Bank for sponsoring the event, our hole sponsors for their generous donations, and everyone that participated in the tournament in any way and we appreciate what our supporters do for Tarleton Athletics and our student athletes.”
The event, after a one-year hiatus due to renovations, returned to Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park. The tournament welcomed 60 teams, including 32 in the morning flight and 28 teams in the afternoon flight, which included over 250 players and boasted a tournament-record 175 hole sponsorships. First Financial Bank was the title sponsor of the tournament.
