Kevin Flinn, Hyedi Viehmann, Jared Sienkiewich and Ty Riebe, led by their project mentor Tina Hanson from Garver, Inc. presented a design for the expansion of the Alligator Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant south of Dallas. Junior Civil Engineering majors Emory McDougald, James Tristan King and Logan Riaz also deserve honorable mention for their valuable contributions to the final design, although they did not travel with the team to San Antonio.
The WEAT competition field featured a dozen teams from Texas and Louisiana, including SMU, which took first place, and runner-up Texas A&M.
“It must be noted that we beat teams from LSU and Texas Tech,” said assistant professor Dr. Kartik Venkataraman, their Tarleton mentor. “This is a great accomplishment for these students acting as ambassadors of our program. All four students have job offers in hand but were much sought after by recruiters and engineering firms after their presentation at the event.”
