Backyard Birds Class

The Prairie Oaks Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists will sponsor a Backyard Birds class taught by Dr. Carol Thompson, 10-12 a.m. in the back room at Beans and Franks, 1296 W. Washington in Stephenville.  Participants will learn to identify common local birds found around homes and at bird feeders.  Information will also be presented on helpful bird identification apps, and how to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, sponsored by the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, which will occur during February 17-20.  Prairie Oaks members will also provide information about upcoming chapter activities.  Participation in the class is free and open to adults and children over 10.  Participants who register ([email protected] – Marsha Stephens, Ph.D., member of local coordination committee for the Prairie Oaks Chapter) qualify for a drawing for free bird feeders at the end of class.
