Monument Dedication for Sheriff James Mastin

The Stephenville Masonic Lodge #267, 2nd Texas Frontier District Camp #1904, SCV and Major George B. Erath Chapter 2679, UDC will host a monument dedication for Sheriff James Mastin.
Erath County Sheriff James Mastin died on June 25, 1877 and was buried in an unmarked grave. He was murdered while trying to arrest a horse thief.
This monument will honor Mastin and other Texas law enforcement officers.
