STEPHENVILLE (June 5, 2015) — While staying close to home to attend Tarleton State University, Stephenville High School 2015 valedictorian Rachel Tuggle will also be writing and shooting photography for The Flash Today.
Tuggle will be working part time for The Flash beginning next week, covering general photo and writing assignments and Dublin ISD. During the recently completed spring semester, Tuggle covered Stephenville High School news for the student-driven school news page on The Flash.
“We instantly recognized Rachel as a very talented, bright and driven individual who is eager to learn and grow to be successful in all that she does,” said Jessie Horton, publisher of TheFlashToday.com and CEO of Flash Rock Media, LLC. “We believe Rachel will quickly become an integral part of our growing team here at The Flash Today.”
Tuggle was a member of the National Honor Society, Stingerette dance team and the yearbook staff at SHS, and was also successful in UIL journalism competitions. She is excited to see her work as a student writer grow into something more with The Flash Today.
“I am super excited about this opportunity,” said Tuggle. “Journalism is something that I did in high school and I want to continue writing in the future.”
Tuggle plans to double major in English and Spanish at Tarleton and hopes to teach and write while doing mission work in the future. She plans to participate in Tarleton’s study abroad program and hopes to visit Europe next summer.
