FLASH STAFF REPORT
ERATH COUNTY (September 20, 2017) – Did you know it’s Rhymes & Vines time?!?
That’s right, the awesomely laid-back version of that big music festival in April is here again and event organizer Martha Taylor said this year they’ve added a new can’t miss event – the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JALAPEÑO POPPER COOK-OFF!
Festivities begin Wednesday night and continue through the weekend. The best news is there are still plenty of online tickets and parking passes as well as some reserved camping spots still open for those last minute campers.
Taylor said just jump online (http://larryjoetaylor.com/rhymes_and_vines.htm) and purchase tickets and parking passes and even campsites before you head out to Melody Mountain Ranch or purchase yours at the gate.
In addition to the full line-up of stars taking the stage, there will also be a home-brew and wine contest which has grown dramatically from the first year, topping out at more than 60 entries this year, Taylor said. And the ‘Pop Off’ as the championships are being called is open to those in attendance Saturday and begins at noon with judging at 2 p.m.
“Just come on out, bring a lawn chair or a blanket and come prepared to have a blast,” Taylor advised. “Remember, we have lots of great vendors out here, too. So bring some cash in case you find something you can’t be without! This is our relaxing, fun weekend to feature some of these artists.”
