STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State Women’s Basketball has announced their fourth signing of the 2024 offseason, adding wing Kyriana Jones.

Jones is a transfer who played last season at Dodge City CC. In her sophomore campaign, she averaged 11.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 32 games, where she made 30 starts. She began her collegiate career at Mississippi Valley State in 2022-23, where as a true freshman, the former Devilette averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game across 14 contests.

“We are so excited about Ky Jones joining our Texan Family,” head coach Bill Brock said. “She is someone we targeted early in the recruiting process and feel like she is a great addition to our squad. Ky adds size to our perimeter and gives us an additional three-point shooting threat. Her Dodge City CC team qualified for the D1 NJCAA National Tournament and Ky was selected to the All-Tournament Team for her outstanding play. Our fans will enjoy watching Ky on the court next season.”

Jones ended her time at Dodge City CC by playing some of her best basketball, earning a spot on the NJCAA DI National Tournament All-Tournament team. Jones led the Conquistadors to their first win at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in school history, tallying a game-high 20 points (7-10 FG, 4-5 3PT) to go with five rebounds in their 75-57 win over East Georgia State. In the second round against Wabash Valley, Jones tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

Jones earned Region 6 All-Tournament and honorable mention KJCCC All-Conference for the Conqs after the team finished 27-7 overall, second in the conference. She scored in double figures 21 times last season across 32 games with a pair of 20-point contests. She scored a season-high 22 points against Northwest Kansas Tech on Jan. 3 on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-6 from distance, adding six rebounds. She achieved three double-doubles on the year, plus had three different games with four steals. For the Conquistadors, she was third in scoring, third in rebounding and fourth in steals.

As a true freshman, Jones shined against some of Mississippi Valley State’s largest opponents in 2022-23, including against the eventual national champions that year, LSU. Against head coach Kim Mulkey’s club, Jones scored 11 points in 19 minutes, adding three rebounds. She had her best game of the season against Alabama State, scoring a season-high 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from distance, to go with a season-high five rebounds.

The Little Rock, Arkansas, native, played her prep basketball at North Little Rock High School. She was a state champion her senior year, helping North Little Rock HS to a 50-36 win over Northside HS in the 2022 AHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament.

Jones will pursue a degree in kinesiology at Tarleton State University.

Jones is the fourth signing announced by the Texans this offseason. She joins forward Alani Fluker, a transfer from San Jose State, guard Grace Booth, an incoming freshman from Glen Rose High School, and Mar’Cyah “MiMi” Willis, an incoming freshman from La Vega High School.
