STEPHENVILLE – Francisco Rodriguez played a big role offensively in leading Tarleton to a sweep of Arlington Baptist last weekend and it led to the senior being named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week.

Rodriguez was on fire at the plate in last weekend’s home-opening series. The outfielder from Venezuela hit .636 in 11 at bats with a team-high seven RBI. He boasted two doubles and a home run while scoring four runs and racking up 12 total bases for the series. He slugged 1.091 to go along with a .714 on-base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with three putouts in centerfield. He also stole two bases. It’s the first career LSC weekly award for Rodriguez.

Rodriguez and the Texans are scheduled to host Adams State for a four-game series on Feb. 23-25 at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex.
