Sammie Ruth Gillentine Maserang Dennis Basham, born in Waxahachie, Texas on August 22, 1923 to parents Sam and Erin (Sills) Gilentine, passed away in Hico Texas on May 29, 2018 at age 94. Lovingly known as Granny Ruth by her family, and was an avid bowler until age 89.
Preceding Ruth in death were husbands, Leo Maserang, Jr., RC Dennis, and Marshal Basham, son Mike Maserang, daughter Barbara Malm, step son Pat Basham, grandson, Curtis Maserang, granddaughter Leisa Maserang, grandson Marshal Eugene Robinson, granddaughter Tyrone Basham, granddaughter Alyssa Dennis and great granddaughter Merry Lee Schmid.
Surviving Ruth are son, Sam Maserang and wife Jane of Hico, Ray Dennis and wife Debbie, daughter in-law Leona Basham, step daughter Ann Basham. Also surviving Mrs. Basham are grandchildren, Pam Floyd and husband John, Rosa Maserang, Jerry Maserang, Shani Williams and husband Weldon, Audra Newman and husband David, Chris Dennis, Raymond Overstreet and wife Gina, Christina Overstreet, Cynthia Overstreet, 22 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Service Information
Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018, in the First United Methodist Church of Hico with burial to follow in Grandview Cemetery.
