ERATH COUNTY (August 20, 2018) – Erath County United Way (ECUW) is hosting their annual fish fry event on Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Newman Hall located at 1444 W. Washington Street.

ECUW raises money to help fund a variety of local non-profit social service agencies that directly serve the residents of Erath County.

The Stephenville Knights of Columbus will be cooking at the event again this year. The meal will consist of fish filets, hush puppies, french fries and red beans.

H-E-B is the title sponsor for the event and Dairy Max is also donating milk and ice cream for the fish fry as well.

Tickets are $10 for adults and eight dollars for kids 12 and under as well as senior citizens 65 years and older.

ECUW has been hosting their fish fry event every year for over 30 years. The fish fry event is also the event that kicks off Erath County United Way’s capital campaign.

Shelley Gilliland, ECUW board member and chair of the event, said that she is proud to able to provide for all of the local agencies in town and support other non-profits.

“(The fish fry event) makes me proud that the community comes together to support United Way and all of our local agencies,” Gilliland said.

Carry-out is available as well as to-go orders. A drive-thru will be set up in front of Newman Hall. Customers can call 254-965-5693 to place their order.

“August 22nd is the first day of school so leave the cooking to us and join us at the Erath County United Way fish fry and let us feed your family,” Gilliland added.
