STEPHENVILLE (January 16, 2015) — Stephenville exploded for a 17-2 run that was part of a 22-4 third quarter, turning its once tight 6-4A battle with Mineral Wells into a rout Friday evening at Gandy Gym.
Mineral Wells turned the ball over 26 times and Stephenville (15-7, 1-1) used a 21-1 advantage in points off turnovers to build its big margin in a 60-34 District 6-4A win. Stephenville had just 10 turnovers including only two after intermission.

Cassidy Cline led the Honeybees with 13 points while Lyndy Graham had 12 and Bayleigh Chaviers 11. Each double-digit scorer also collected a handful of steals.
Stephenville hit eight 3-pointers, crucial with Mineral Wells trying to sit back in a zone defense. Cline made three from outside the arc, and Kali Smith hit two triples for her six points. Lariat Larner scored eight, Bethany Bouchey six and Breanna Wooley four.

Stephenville led 16-13 after the first then surrendered just 12 total points over the second and the third. It was 26-21 at the half and 48-25 after the Bees’ big run in the third.
The Bees snapped out of a two-game skid in their first game in a week. They continue 6-4A play Tuesday at Abilene Wylie.
