STEPHENVILLE (January 23, 2015) — Stephenville scored the first 19 points and never looked back in a 63-30 mauling of Graham in District 6-4A girls action at Gandy Gym Friday evening.
Graham put up little fight against a Honeybee press that dominated the game early on. Stephenville scored all of its 21 first-quarter points off Graham’s eight turnovers. That included hitting four 3-pointers, two of them by Bayleigh Chaviers.
Chaviers scored 11 in the opening half. So, by the way, did Graham’s entire team. Chaviers finished with 15, while Cassidy Cline, who hit half of Stpehenville’s six 3-point baskets, had 18. The two guards combined to outscore Graham 33-30.
Also in double figures for Stephenville was Lariat Larner with 12. Skyler Chipman scored seven, Bethanie Bouchey three, Kali Smith two, Ali Thorpe two, Robbi Elliott two and Breanna Wooley two.
Stephenville hosts Brownwood at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a boys game to follow at 8.
