STEPHENVILLE (January 25, 2015) — TaShawn Mabry didn’t just have a career week personally, he also had the best offensive week in the Lone Star conference.
The Tarleton State senior forward from Rocky Mount, NC was named LSC Offensive Player of the Week Monday after scoring a career-best 31 points in a 89-64 win at Eastern New Mexico Saturday and 23 in a 76-71 victory over West Texas A&M in Stephenville last Wednesday.

Mabry and senior guard Mo Lee scored Tarleton’s final 25 points against WTAMU, including nine straight by Mabry as the Texans took the lead for good. He was 6-11 shooting against WTAMU, an also had eight rebounds and three assists.
On Saturday, Mabry was a model of efficiency, going 13-19 from the floor to become just the 17th player to score at least 31 points in Tarleton’s 27 years under head coach Lonn Reisman.

For the week, Mabry shot 63.3 percent from the floor, averaged 27 points and collected 11 total rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
The Texans (16-2, 4-2) are currently in fourth in the LSC standings, just a half game behind third-place Texas A&M-Commerce. Tarleton hosts McMurry in a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, following a 5:30 p.m. women’s contest.
