A one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon resulted in one patient being taken by Air Evac to a Fort Worth hospital.

A maroon Ford F-150 pickup traveling north on County Road 182 left the roadway into a ditch on the west side of the road, colliding with a tree. Emergency responders from Erath County Volunteer Fire & Rescue were able to extricate the driver, a male, and assist in loading him into an ambulance to await the Air Evac helicopter, which was on the ground minutes later in a field adjacent to the intersection of CR 182 and PR 1615.

Officials on scene did not immediately release an identity of the injured driver.

The Erath County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the scene, about 1 mile north of US Highway 67 and about 4 miles east of Stephenville.
