Stephenville outlasted Abilene Wylie in a tie match that came down to the final penalty kick to improve to 2-0 in District 4-4A boys soccer Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets tied the match on a second half penalty kick by sophomore forward Aaron Veloz, who later hit one of the tie breaking PKs in the 1-1 (5-4) victory at Stephenville Soccer Complex.
Felipe Espinoza, Brady Alford, Ivan Cabrera and Pedro Mannriquez hit the remaining extra points for Stephenville, while keeper Noble Alexander blocked one to earn the win in goal.
The Jackets visit Brownwood at 7 p.m. Tuesday following a JV match at 5:30.
