STEPHENVILLE (March 19, 2015) — The Stephenville High School Yellow Jacket Bands, including both the high school bands and the jr. high school bands, as well as the SHS winterguard, invited the community to join the Thursday evening for hamburgers and music.

The ‘Band Fans’ fired up the grills and served up more than 200 burgers, with the money going to help the band, while the bands kept everyone entertained with tunes from their UIL performances. Director of Bands, Michael Childs said this was the last chance the groups had to perform for the public before their competitions.

The winterguard will compete in their championships on Saturday, March 21 at Marcus HS, and the jazz ensemble competes in the Tarleton Jazz Festival on the same day.

The Henderson Jr. High bands, directed by Chris Conway and Andrew Nance, compete at UIL concert and sightreading contest next week in Glen Rose. The high school bands will compete April 9 in Alvarado.
