Elite Eight: Tarleton fans send Texans off in style

(March 23, 2015) — Tarleton State University is off to the Elite Eight.

The South Central Region champion Texan basketball team was greeted by dozens of supporters when they met their charter bus to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 6:15 a.m. Monday morning.

The Texans rolled out of Stephenville from the west side of the Tarleton football field house at 6:30 a.m., and are boarding American Airlines Flight 1212 at 11:30 a.m., arriving in Louisville, Kentucky at 2:24 p.m. A charter bus will then carry them into Evansville, Indiana.

Tarleton will practice each day in Indiana and will also participate in a community service activity leading up the start of the Elite Eight. The Texans play in the first quarterfinal game against Mount Olive (NC) at noon Wednesday in the Ford Center.
