(April 6, 2015) — A pair of walk off hits have earned Erika Menchaca of Tarleton State the Lone Star Conference Softball Hitter of the Week honor.
Menchaca, a sophomore from Burleson, had a two-out walk-off single in game one and a walk-off double in game two of a Friday doubleheader against Texas A&M-Commerce. She went on to go 9-of-13 from the plate over the weekend, including a pair of home runs. She also had two doubles on her way to eight RBIs and two runs scored.
It’s the third time this season a Tarleton player has earned hitter of the week acclaim from LSC officials in Richardson. Stephenville product Katelyn Conlee belted her way to two earlier honors.
Tarleton visits Cameron University in Lawton Oklahoma for a four-game series this weekend. Doubleheaders begin at 1 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.
