ERATH COUNTY (April 22, 2015) — Yes, it’s that time of year. Time for LJT, and almost inevitably that means a little weather. And this year’s no different.

From the looks of things, Wednesday and Friday afternoons will be wet, along with a slight chance of rain Thursday. But Saturday the sun will come out with stars for the final night of the 27th annual Larry Joe Taylor Festival, including Larry Joe himself.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the latest update at 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday showed Stephenville, and Erath County, in the ‘slight’ chance of severe weather area for Wednesday evening until 2 a.m. Thursday morning. NWS also predicted a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the area on Thursday and a 60 percent chance on Friday.

However, the NWS also forecasted the clouds would break on Friday evening, only giving a slight chance of rain Friday night and on Saturday, little wind and sunny, the report said.

Highs all week will be in the 80’s, with lows in the mid- to upper-60’s in the evenings. Wednesday will be 78ºF and 65ºF; Thursday will be 84ºF and 67ºF; Friday will be 85ºF and 62ºF; with Saturday rounding out the event at 89ºF and 61ºF.

Event organizers at LJT remind concert goers that the roof on the main stage has been extended approximately 20 feet, which will provide protection from the weather (to an extent) for the first few rows of the audience. Come early to ensure you’re close enough to get out of the weather.

LJT Staff will inform event goers of any changes to event schedules due to weather. The Flash will post all changes as soon as we are informed, as well.
