ERATH COUNTY (April 29, 2015) — One man was taken to the hospital after the delivery truck he was driving along State Highway 220 at the FM 2481 intersection slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler.
The semi-truck driver, who was hauling a load of corn to a local farmer, reportedly stopped to make a left turn onto 2481 when the delivery truck hit him from behind. Emergency responders from Erath County Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Erath County EMS, Cross Timbers First Responders, Hico Volunteer Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS worked to free the delivery truck driver from the wreckage early Wednesday morning.
Native Air arrived on scene and took the driver to the hospital once freed. The driver of the semi-truck was shaken up, but otherwise uninjured. He said there wasn’t anywhere to go to avoid the other vehicle as another semi was coming in the oncoming lane. State troopers working the accident wouldn’t comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
Prayers going out for family, be strong for him… God’s got him!
