STEPHENVILLE – Just one day after helping Tarleton State clinch its first regional championship and advance to the super regionals, Katelyn Conlee was named a Daktronics second-team all-region honoree.
“Katelyn is a great leader for our team and this is a well-deserving honor for her,” said head coachJulie Mata.
Conlee, a junior from Stephenville, is coming off a second-team all-conference season over which she is hitting .399 with 71 hits, 11 home runs and 55 RBIs. She lifted Tarleton State to its eighth 30-win season in school history and fourth NCAA postseason.

Last weekend, Conlee traveled to Canyon for her first experience in the NCAA South Central Region 1 Tournament and hit .500 in three Tarleton victories to keep the TexAnn season alive into the Super Regionals and deliver the first regional championship for Tarleton Softball in school history.
In her career, Conlee is a two-time all-conference selection. This is her first all-region honor and the fourth Daktronics all-region selection in TexAnn history, joining Brooke Saulters (2007), Katie Welborn (2012) and Samantha Swanda (2012).
Conlee and the TexAnns will continue their magical run through the NCAA postseason this weekend in San Antonio with the NCAA Division II South Central Super Regional series against St. Mary’s on Friday and Saturday.
